And so to the New York Public Library for a spot of culture. Jonathan had a few minutes before catching a train so we scooted around the Newton Exhibition too quickly to do it justice (plus i was knackerd and took next to nothing in). After saying goodbye i ended up in one of the fantastic reading rooms. These are great places to sit down and get a spot of work done. Spacious desks, power, but i didn’t get a sniff of the free wireless.

Forget the side of the bus as an indication of the pervasive web, or as overheard today “the URL on the bathroom wall?”. How about the one in my hotel shower head?

Gudge spotted this notice on the Subway last night “Fire? do not pull the emergency cord! Medical? do not pull the emergency code! Police? do not pull the emergency cord!”. So when can you pull the emergency cord?”. Arthur Dent reached out and pressed an invitingly large red button on a nearby panel. The panel lit up with the words Please do not press this button again” ..

i’ve been a fan of John Peel most of my adult life - first as a teenager staying up late to listen to his Radio 1 programme, and then to Home Truths. So like many brits today’s sad news has knocked me for six :-(

i’ve been enjoying Hugh McLeod’s gapingvoid.com blog which he illustrates with his own cartoons (warning - anglo-saxon language), but his “how to be creative” (PDF) is quite inspirational, in a down-to-earth way. Oh, and incase you’re wondering where i fit in the above diagram: “soy un perdedor” :)
