Summer, so i'm a happy cyclist hacking the six or so miles into work and back.
I say summer, because i'm a fair weather cyclist - in part due to the weather, but mainly because during the light nights i can bomb along the canal tow path and avoid the traffic.
Technically you need a pass from British Waterways, though i've never been asked to show mine:
The Grand Union Canal runs from the Thames at London to Birmingham via Braunston:
The swing bridge and Three Horseshoes pub at Winkwell:
The west coast main line railway follows the canal:
Under the concrete cladding is a bridge build by George Stephenson:
These are the Horse Chestnuts i blogged earlier:
I really liked the reflection under this bridge at the Fishery Inn:
Cricket match at Boxmoor:
The church of DIY:
Hot house flowers:
don't really compete with the wild ones:
Lots of Herons:
Scary swans under this bridge:
Hmm .. what's that nice smell:
The church of Sainsburys':
built on the site of an old paper mill:
As are these trendy new flats and marina:
and so into work:
So how can you tell a happy cyclist? by the flies on his teeth, of course.
