You put the word suspects in inverted commas. So you suspect that the 'suspects' are nothing of the kind. Well, complete the sentence "Fantastic news, our glorious leader gets a kick up the j*cksie for his plans to introduce detention without charge for terror ..." with one word that does not need to be in quotation marks.

The inverted commas say it all. Knowing you as a man of common sense, I can understand your reluctance to object to genuine "terror suspects" being detained. Instead, then, you adopt a position of paranoia: the police a seeking powers to lock up law abiding citizens on a false pretext. I don't buy it.

They don't need these powers, and suspects are just that until they are charged, given a fair trial and proven guilty.
The thought of a police state in this country is a incredibly frightning and degrading for a person to go through. I wonder if people will wake up in time to act and take this monster down and kill it

We are now under 'Corpus Juris',which means that you are judged to be guilty before being proven innocent unlike 'habeaus corpus' which is that you are innocent before being proven guilty.
