Don likes the innovation of a search box top-right in IE7. I wonder how it compares to the gloriously extensible Firefox Search Engine, or Norm's cool toolbar bookmarklet hack. Seems like 2006 is set see another round of browser and search engine wars, and that can only be a good thing for Joe Surf.

Don's note is about the Vista CTP - not Innovation. If you think innovation is about "search box top-right" of a browser, it is time to stop attending the committees and hit the books.
Hmm. I don't think the innovation is having the box, it's having an extensible box which opens the door to others making innovations.. I wonder if IE7 or Vista CTP encourages such a mindset..
If IE6 encouraged the pluggable toolbar mindset why wouldn't IE7 or Vista CTP enourage some others? Of course if IE7 enabled a "search box top-right" one can only imagine the number of jeers from the heckler gallery...
