Day 4 and the experiment continues. I've had some interesting feedback, in particular from Robbie Clutton who says “yeah, it's kinda OK, but you really are depressing!” And he's right! Yeah, I've been a bit sorta depressed, or depressive for quite a while now and I think it's probably directly attributable to a few things, but top of the list would be lack of hacking. I miss hacking, I love quick, nasty, dirty, but fun hacks and I don't do any of that any more I seem to have descended into being a project manager [and not a very good one at that!]. Brrrr. Anyway, hopefully tomorrow will be more upbeat because I'll be at Future of Web Apps. Way-hay!

Now that is depressing.
Who ever said that depressed/-ing was necessarily bad (for the audience that is)?
Not exactly sure why, but this somehow reminds me of Toby Ziegler*...

FND, You are so so sooo right about the similarity between Toby and psd. I love Toby for that very reason.
But back to our favorite fledging vlogger, can we throw a a party to lighten him up or failing that get him back to hacking.
PS - I don't think depress[ed|ing] is the right word for what your feeling Paul. I believe it's called The Blues.
Woke up this mornin'
Email box was full
boring meeting invitations
not a line of code in sight
my work is all guesstimating
and doing timesheets instead
I've got the can't hack my Javascript Blues.
I need a front end guy. Wanna come hack for me for options plus a massive reduction in salary?
Pan back... want to see your lovely light room. It looks nice.
Maybe some MaxFactor (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=maxfactor) and some geek porn will cheer you up (http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=geek+porn) :-)
LOL. You work with a bunch of inspiring and inspired young talented people. Any day you want to write code, all you need to do is pair with one of them. I'll remind you it is yourself that chooses to be this busy. I know why I do the stupid, depressing, and crazy things I do. Take a day, don't read your damn e-mail, don't work on any of that W3C stuff that seems to drive you crazy, spend it with Nigel, Yannis, Eastmad, and whoever else is in that day.
